MARJONLANDIA : Adventures in the Golden Tiger Castle (Episode 3)

Season 1, Episode 3
June 17, 2008

Curse of the Centuries, Really?

Freshmen Orientation. And I'm beginning to see people who deserve me.

I don't wanna name them. Instead, Imma give aliases to people whom I don't like. I really don't like them. And I'm about to learn that I am not alone. =)

That's right. Tanga nga ako. Plastic? Was I? Maybe not the exact word. Try 'respectful'.

'Asan si...Ench?' sabi nya.

'Oh, di ko alam'

'Okay'

'Okay'

'Bro, asan kayo?'
'Sa med audi'
'San yan?'

Okay. Ngiti lang Marjon. Ayus lang yan. Day 2 pa lang to. Pag magkaoffense ka, di ka makakapagpatuloy. Okay lang yan. okay lang yan.

Ayos lang. Talagang katangahan yun.

'Ahm, yung nasa may elevator pala..'

Ayaw nyang ibaba. Mahirap sya sa load.

'Andito na ko, sa likod mo'

Gusto ko pang sabihin:

'AH talaga? kelan pa? Kamusta ka? Maayos ba tulog mo?'

Hahahahaha. Bale nga pala yung naintindihan ko lang sa Orientation ang laging pagbanggit at pagmamayabang nila na ang UST ay ang the 'RPS' University (the Royal, the Pepsi, and the Coke University of the Philippines)

Haha baduy. Sabaw. Corny. Mamais.

Kung anu man yun. Samin na lang yun. Baka mabasa nya eh. Haha

So nagtour na kami.

AT umabot kami sa Arch of the Centuries. May isang legend tungkol sa arkong yun. Sabi nila, pag dumaan ka daw dun palabas, di ka na makakagraduate (maybe bcoz you can only use the arch once and that is, on your grad march). AMPUTTT.. Parang dumaan ako dun palabas nung Episode 1. Sht. Sht. Sht.

Tawag ko dun ay Curse of The Centuries.

New characters:
Wei (Hi I'm Wei, My Wei, Your Way, Path Wei, Hall Wei, Broad Wei, Pasa Wei! Any Wei, are you from Pisay?)
Shen (Hi, I'm Shen, no, not She, Shennnnnnnn)
Karl (Gusto nyo magkatabi [ni Ench]? Okay.)
Bon (Taga-Bicol ka rin? Taga-pisay ka?! Kilala mo si Gicka?!?!?!?!?!)
Thea (Hi, I'm Thea. Sorry forgot your name....ah, Marjon, sorry im kinda bad in remembering names?) How cute.. haha

Pero
Ngunit
Subalit
Yet

But alin ang tunay na curse? Ang Arch o si Really? That's what we're going to find out in the next days.

MARJONLANDIA : Adventures in the Golden Tiger Castle (Episode 2)

June 16, 2008
Season 1, Episode 2

Hmmm... People, people, people.
Sobrang daming people.
Heavy pedestrian traffic sa UST. Grabe.

'What's the point? Don't wait for no one, please? I'm late.'

Not a single peep. Antahimik ng classmates ko. I looked around. Wala nmang prof ah. Narealize ko. Onga pala, First day namin. It's supposed to be that way. Unless.

Ayun as expected, babae ang unang dadakdak. Nagsabi lang ng Hi yung isa, I'm Blabla.

5, 4, 3, 2, 1 - BOOM! Napuno ang room ng:

Nu pangalan mo?(pero commonly, 'Nu name mo')
Where do you live?
Nu number mo?
First day mo ba?
Taga-UST ka ba?
Ka-block ba kita?
TAO KA BA?
KAUSAP BA KITA?

Hindi naman.. Medyo lang.

PHILO 2 - Tagal ng prof. SOobra. Bored ako syempre. Kaya pinanuod ko lang silang nag-uusap. AT ayun may nagsalita sa vicinity ko. Yun. Naloko na.

Ayan na yung prof. Haha! Bakit daw Philo 2? Kasi hindi Philo 1. (crickets, do your thing)

BIO 101 - HUHU. I'm scared. This is going to be one tough subject. Not because I don't like Bio. The prof looks mean. Pero enjoy naman sya magjoke.

VACANT - I made new friends at kami yung nasa pinakalikod/backboys/late/adik sa aircon.

ENGLISH - BOOYAH! WALANG PROF.

THEOLOGY - God. God. God. Let's talk about God. Next. (Uy, walang personalan, joke lang hehe)

LUNCH - KFC is the place to be! Hotshots pa rin inorder ko as usual.

PE - Peste, di pala gagamit ng PE Uniform. Heto nangtrip na naman. Naku. Ayaw ko makipag-away ngayon. So help me God. Impressive.

Go USTe! Go USTe! Rah Rah Rah. Bla bla. (not meant to offend people yung bla bla)

Tapos sepak na. Hmmm. Inaantok na ko. Hindi dahil ayoko nung sinasabi ng prof. Kasi nakakapagod pala maging college.

Uwian na, tapos may humabol pang makipagkaibigan. Ok. Sige lang ng sige.

Di ako marunong sumakay from UST to Lardizabal. So Nag-SM ako kahit walng bibilhin, kahit di gutom, kahit wala ako sa mood maglaro ng Deal or No Deal.

Medyo boring tong post. Hay.

Pero nakakapagod talaga ang maging college. At officially, Day 1 pa lang 'to! AHHHHH!

S.O.S.

Someone's going to butcher Cook's version of Billie Jean

Now this is an interesting show after all. A source posted the list of song choices by the top 16 contestants of Pinoy Idol. The theme is 'Musical Influences'.

I've been rooting for them but seriously, will they nail these songs?

Jayann Bautista will sing Bleeding Love by Leona Lewis (Tapang ni ate)

Sue Ellen chose to sing Love Like This by Natasha Bedingfield (bwahaha, nakakatuwa to for sure)

Penelope chose One Step at a Time by Jordin Sparks (No comment, di familiar yung song, pero narinig ko na sa AI Finale)

I hate them and they will still make me puke for choosing these songs:

Daryl Celis will sing Because of You by Ne-Yo(HAHAHAHAHAHA, GOOD LUCK PARE)

Warren Antig is going to try so hard for having the guts of choosing David Cook's (or Chris Cornell's) version of Billie Jean

Top 12 Performances of AI Season 7

Still got the American Idol Fever or should I say the Cookie fever?

As usual, wala na naman ako magawa so I thought why not do this now? Hoy pinaghirapan ko to ah. Magcomment ka naman.

Starting with...

#20 - Rescue Me - Kristy Lee Cook

Cute. Catchy. Hot Kristy.

#19 - You Don't Have to Say You Love Me - Ramiele Malubay

Because she's Pinay. Bwahaha. Seriously, she would have been a judge favorite.

#18 - Dream On - Michael Johns

Michael's last performance. But he was too good to be eliminated.

#17 - I Am.. I Said - Brooke White

Showcases her personality.

#16 - Angels - David Archuleta

Wow. This really moved me. Hehe

#15 - Dont Let the Sun Go Down on Me - David Archuleta

This was a big moment for Archie.

#14 - Anyway - Kristy Lee Cook

Her best, vocally.

#13 - Hallelujah - Jason Castro

Love the song. Love the rendition. Hate him.

#12 - Eleanor Rigby - David Cook

I can say no more. This was it for him.

#11 - Forever - Kristy Lee Cook

I still ain't going to give up. This version was good. It did give me chills, too. I think the judges were a bit unfair.

#10 - I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing - David Cook

Superb. Cool. Go David Cook.

#9 - Jesus Christ Superstar - Carly Smithson

I really enjoyed this performance, I think everybody did. But unfortunately, it turned out to be Carly's last performance on AI.

#8 - We Will Rock You/We Are The Champions - Michael Johns

Made me root for Michael Johns. Made our maid jump in excitement.

#7 - Let It Be - Brooke White

Brooke's best performance. One of the most memorable moments of the season.

#6 - It's All Wrong But It's All Right - Michael Johns

Wow. Bluesy Soul na parang Rock na Country. Haha. His best performance.

#5 - Every Breath You Take - Brooke White

I know. Let It Be was her best, vocally. But I really can't get this version of the song out of my head. This made me like Brooke White.

#4 - Come Together - Carly Smithson

My favorite performance from Carly. Very edgy. Kinda reminds me of Katharine McPhee.

#3 - Billie Jean - David Cook

This was really a big leap forward for D.C. This was Simon's most favorite performnce from him

#2 - Imagine - David Archuleta (First Version)

Considered the best performance of the season, vocally. His version of the song made John Lennon's version re-entry the Hot Digital Downloads Chart.

#1 - Always Be My Baby - David Cook

The biggest hit of the season. It even entered the Billboard Hot 100. Honestly, you know you love it. It earned more than a million views on YouTube, beating real singles. It is undeniably a major hit in USA, here in the Philippines as well. Lately this week, I heard this monster-of-a-hit numerous times and in numerous places such as Quiapo, St. Luke's, Divisoria, Makati, Cubao, Choy's Apartment hehe. You gotta admit - Cookie Fever is everywhere. As a source said, 'It [Cook's version of the song] was too good for American Idol'.

Discuss!

I am a PROUD FILIPINO!

I USE THE SPOON IN EATING RICE
I USE 'PO' AND 'OPO' VERY OFTEN
I LOVE CHICHARON AND HALO-HALO
& I LOVE TEXTING!

I AM A PROUD FILIPINO

Confirmed: Puerto Princesa Subterranean River Park enters the Top 7

Which makes us the strongest contender.

Tubbataha Reef enters the top 3, Chocolate Hills ascends to #4 and Mayon Volcano holds it's position at #10.

Amazon River gets kicked off the Top 7.

Wow, can't wait for the announcement of the shortlisted entries.

I really do hope they include at least two of our entries.

Well, you can't expect to do so by relying on their biased views. You have to make them hear your voice

Chocolate Hills overthrows Amazon River; the rest retain their positions

Yes, this means we have a good chance of having more than one natural wonder. Tubbataha Reef is still the strongest Philippine entry (#4). Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park and Mayon Volcano retain their positions at #9 and #11, respectively.

Wow, 6 out of the 7 top rankers are Asian candidates.

Looks like the New7Wonders of Nature Panel of Experts will have a hard time looking for a Non-Asian finalist. The Great Barrier Reef isn't even in the top 21.

Hope they include at least two of our entries.

Well, to make them do so, YOU need to vote.

Be a member and VOTE NOW!

Trust me. This would be a HUGE help to our economy. If at least one of our candidates make it to the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, more tourists would come. More tourists means more investments. More investments means overthrowing Malaysia! Hehe kidding. I hope you get the point.

David Cook is the 7th American Idol

Wow! I was so surprised. I thought Archuleta would win. For the first time ever, a rocker won American Idol!

WOOOOOOOOOOOHH!!

I can't believe it!

Parang tama yung sinabi nung poll.

Yeah!!! Congratulations and the best of luck to you David Cook!

His best performances:

ALWAYS BE MY BABY

BILLIE JEAN

ALL I REALLY NEED IS YOU

Can't wait for his album.

David COOK is the seventh American Idol!

Pinoy Idol Top 24 (Okay, hindi mo napanood? Naiintindihan kita)

Di bale, it's really painful to watch Kapitan Boom.

Speaking of Idol. May Idols Africa pala. Hahahaha no comment.

Watch Pinoy Idol Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Proud to be Kanguso!

Chevy Malibu

Against other competitors released this year. (Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, Nissan Altima)

Price: Altima is the cheapest - $18,600 - $19,200 (but has many disadvantages compared to competitors - no power exterior mirror, no daytime headlights, no power sunroof, headlights not automatic)

Size: Malibu is the biggest and has more room than any other competitor. (ehemm)

Fuel Economy: Altima saves the most fuel.

Powertrain: Malibu

Anti-corrosion: Still, Malibu's anti-corrosion property lasts for 72 months

Wow, Malibu is safer according to POLK. It has many safety features. I won't bother enumerate them. I'm just lovin' it. That's it.

Seriously, as I've seen the details. Looks like Nissan is not going to do well in the market this year. Plus, Altima's standard transmission is manual. Eww. Who dares to drive stickshift?

Camry is the sexiest.

Honda Accord is Honda Accord. Asimo is much better. Yah, the robot. Boring. I'm not making any sense, am I?

Ranking according to preference:

4. 2008 Nissan Altima - eww. stick shift.

3. 2008 Honda Accord Sedan - okay. boring. Has many disadvantages compared to Camry and Malibu.

2. 2008 Toyota Camry - Sexy.

1. 2008 Chevy Malibu - Love it! Woooooooooh!

That's it. Bukas magpapaturo na 'ko magdrive. I'm getting ready for this. I hope I'll get one soon.

PS3 Laptop, to join Ben Heck's line of game console laptops

Isa nanamang pagkakaguluhan ng PS3 fanboys! Dwight at Bennard, save some money for this, hehe. You'll love it.

Syempre ako rin, gustong-gusto ko rin nito, I've always been a fan of Playstations, bit I was hoping I would get a Nintendo Wii for Christmas.

Thanks mom, I've been such a good boy this year.

And kung inaakala nyong kalokohan na naman 'to ng inventor na si Ben Heck. Mali kayo. This will also be auctioned for charity. It's not a bad world after all, uso na talaga ang charity ngayon. HAHA. But, really, it is really important to give back and allot your pocket money on saving lives. Tsaka, okay lang naman, people should be thinking about putting two awesome (and useful, bla bla) gadgets into one small enclosure

Haha, anyways, PS3 Laptop talk:

The essential specs:

  • Original backwards compatible 60GB model
  • 17-inch LCD HDTV screen: 720p
  • HDMI-DVI connection (same as last Xbox 360 laptop)
  • Built-in keyboard, USB ports, stereo speakers, headphone jack
  • Size: 17 x 13.75 x 3-inches
  • Weight: 16 pounds!

And by the way, did you know na may mas nauna pa dito, Xbox 360 at Nintendo Wii.

Oh yeah, please let me have them all! I want them all!

Features (Wii):

  • 16:9 widescreen LCD, 7-inch diagonal.
  • Stereo sound
  • Gamecube controller port
  • Built-in short range Sensor Bar
  • Ports for using original Sensor Bar and A/V output jacks (for use on external display)
  • Built-in power supply and compartment for power cord
  • Dimensions: 8.5 x 7.7 x 2-inches

I can't find the Xbox 360's features, they didn't post it, I guess.

But, seriously, this is really a teen's must-have. I hope they manufacture lots of it and sell it commercially soon. I really hope. And I hope they do this fast, I want to have this before I turn 18. Please.

iPod Shuffle made of Gold and Diamond for Auction

Feast your eyes on this!

Haha I never thought a $99 gadget can be a $40,000 bling. Hindi talaga. Sinong loko-loko ang nakaisip nito? A source tells that a Norwegian company started it.

Yes, folks, this iPod Shuffle made of pure gold and diamond is worth $40,000, and the bad news is that amount is the capital, this thing is for auction and hell, people are dying to have it. So I won't be surprised millionaire music lovers are ready to spend ten times the auction's starting price - say $500,000/P20,000,000 - isang project na yun ni GMA, say, isang factory na ng NFA Rice or two.

Hay, i don't know if the world could get any unfair-er. People are starting to panic for NFA Rice here and people in the Scandinavian area are wasting money on this.

Oh well, this world will never be a perfect world. Anyways, I like it. HAHA Peace!

American Idol Season 7 Top 7 Performance

It's Mariah Carey Week, folks, and I am expecting a lot from Carly and David Archuleta..

And of course, David Cook is going to surprise us with an emo version of Mariah's 'very pop' songs.. haha..

Well, the show was 8 am today, Manila time, and I listened to the mp3's through various sources. I won't tell, hehe.. And I asked my relatives to vote for Carly.

And I'm posting the mp3's here:

  • Well, the first to perform was David Archuleta, he sang When You Believe.

Uhmm, not his best, I thought.

  • The second was Carly, she sang Without You..

And she was good, but not that good.. as in Leona Lewis or Mariah Carey good..

  • Third is Syesha, who sang Vanishing, I don't know this song..

She sounded like Mariah Carey, hehe, pero mas negra..but, it was a bit amazing..

  • The fourth performance was from Brooke White, and she sang Hero..

Okay, medyo boring, it was kinda flat.. pero maghihit talaga 'to si Brooke White, promise..parang uhm, Taylor Swift..hehe

  • Number five performer is Kristy, who sang Forever, let's see..

Wow, i gotta admit, it's wierd but I'm really starting to like her voice..Kasi matagal ko na siyang gusto physically, hehe...

  • Then there was David Cook! Yeah! Bago kong idol!(dati is Michael Johns)

My prediction was right, emo/pop rock version of Mariah Carey songs..

  • Last came the bastard, pacute at conceited na si Jason Castro, who sang I Don't Wanna Cry

Uhm, I kinda liked the performance but NO! Jason must go!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There you have it..:D

Mas nauna pa ako sa Star World or QTV..

I will post the rankings according to my preference, and according to my prediction..They're whole different things, you know..The singing order is one factor, The earlier you sing, the less impact you get, the more forgettable you are. The second factor is the judges' comments, of course..

Okay, hanngang dito na lang.. haha, hope you enjoyed! Thanks for reading and listening! Leave a comment please!
